Maritime Accidents

Should You Sign the Papers?

Before you’ve recovered from a maritime injury – sometimes even before you’ve caught your breath- your employer may ask that you sign paperwork.  In fact, your employer may insist that you sign the paperwork.  Your employer may tell you that in order to recover damages for your injuries you have  to sign the paperwork.

That is not true.

The Jones Act does not require you to sign any paperwork without consulting your own independent maritime accident attorney first.

It is important to remember that your maritime employer was likely advised by an attorney after your accident.  You deserve the same advantage.  Call a maritime injury lawyer today, before you sign any papers provided by your employer, and protect your right to recovery.
